Kaundinya wildlife sanctuary is located 50 Km from Chittoor and 120 Km from Bangalore by road, covering an area of 358-sq-kms.
At the Kaundiya Wild life sanctuary one may spot the Cheetal, Four horned Antelope, Sambhar, Mouse Deer, Hare, Porcupine, Wild boar, Jungle Cat, Jackal, Sloth Bear, Panther, Jungle Fowl, Pea Fowls and Elephants.
The Sanctuary is rich in flora too and boasts of Albizia Amara, Ficus Religiosa, Ficus Tomentosa, Ficus Bengalensis and Bamboo, Santalum Album etc.
Bird watching, jeep safaris, elephant rides will take the tourists in the interiors from where the tourists can spot the animals in their respective habitats.
Accomodation, tourist lodges near by will surely make the stay comfortable and exciting.
The best time to visit the Kaundinya sanctuary is from the month of October to May.
